Yes, Jesus Loves me - A valentine's day story
So, in the begining when I was a little Ms. V (and if you ask my family, they are all taller than me and I'm still a little Ms. V), but when I was a little girl, I LOVED VALENTINE's Day. Almost as much as Christmas and Resurrection Sunday, we bought Valentine's for our friends and had a class party with all the pink and sugar you could eat!!!!!
Then, my mother passed away of a heart attack on February 14th and I just knew I would never, ever love again. She was my light, she was my best teacher and my best friend. It hurt me for years to look at Valentine's day stuff and I would even call in sick on Valentine's day because I was depressed. One day in the midst of my depression and pain, I cried and asked God "Where are you, this really hurts and I really miss her." And God explained that he was in the same place he was when his son died on the cross for me. Jesus gave me peace and comfort then and now, sure I still miss my mother but I know I will see her again.
Today as a teacher, I am blessed to have many valentines, I call them my kids. I love teaching them and telling them about how much JESUS loves them and I do to. It is said that the one thing you desire you must give and it will come back to you. So I water my beautiful children with love and affirmation and they learn to give it to others and they give it back to me. Yes, JESUS loves me and he loves you too. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
I make it a point that they know who loves them and how much they are loved.
